We aim to reduce barriers for queer people to safely and authentically exist in the outdoors. This mission manifests through events, avalanche education scholarship funds, community resources, and (coming soon) an ambassador program.

Queer mountain film festival

Mountain Queers plans, markets, and hosts events across the Western US for queer folks to gather and build LGBTQIA+ community in mountain sports. Our flagship Queer Mountain Film Festival raises funds to provide queer folks with avalanche education scholarships.

Hiking and Snowshoe Meetups

While skiing is my favorite outdoor sport, it’s important for everybody to feel welcome outdoors. These accessible programs are a low-barrier way for queer folks to enjoy nature together.
